even the sun sets on paradise.

I'm a terrible writer. On account of the fact that I don't do it anymore. I don't write. Which is a pretty big fail. If I'm being truthful, it's because I'm afraid. I have purposefully been avoiding writing for about a week now, even though I know it could probably help me the most. A lot has happened and even though I only turned 21 a week and a half ago, I feel like I've aged immensely. I don't want to talk about it though. Like I said I've been avoiding it. And I honestly will probably never discuss it on a blog. So...there's that. My life has become pretty routine really. I work 20ish hours a week but I feel like it's all I do. That and watching shows on Netflix. It's not bad really. I spend a lot of money on clothes too. And I really do need to invest in a new laptop. That's the main reason why I don't blog actually. My old one stays on for like 20 min then goes to hell and restarts itself with some crazy error message. Then it works fine, ha. It's weird. I am going to buy one though so don't worry. I just need to save up a couple hundred more dollars. I had lunch with my old neighbor from Utah State today. It was completely random but good to see him again haha. It's funny how much people can change but still stay the same.

reunited.

I've been sitting here staring at this blank page trying my hardest to figure out a way to start this entry. I think I just have to dive in. I guess after awhile of missing someone you start to get used to that feeling that something is missing until you see them again. Especially when it's someone who used to be such a big part of your life. I had coffee with my former best friend Jane yesterday and I still kind of can't believe it. I don't really know what more to say about it except that it's weird how there's some people that I think you never really lose a connection with. It was a little bit awkward at first and we've both changed a bit but we still have a bond and I could tell she still really cares about me. Hopefully we'll be able to rekindle our friendship even more over the next couple months while she's home.

We also got mistaken for these two like old times. Ha!

And I can't wait to write this summer's. If it's anything like last summer's then I'm in for a real treat.
Let's make some memories friends :)

my one true love...

I completely agree with this picture. People who don't want to travel or see this beautiful Earth that we are so fortunate to live on are crazy and I want nothing to do with them.

I was born to travel. My whole life has been sprinkled with traveling. I was lucky enough to be born to parents who have the means to let us travel quite often. My grandpa was in the Air Force while my dad was growing up so my dad has moved quite a bit. I honestly can't even remember all the places he's lived growing up but I know he lived in Indiana, Texas, England, Germany, Utah, the Philippines and probably other places I've forgotten. Since then he was also in the Air Force for a bit after my parents were married and they lived in Turkey, Germany, and Washington before settling in Utah. I guess you could say traveling is in my blood and something that I'm used to and kind of expect. The airport is almost like my second home, I get so excited every time I drive out there. I'm not a huge fan of the Salt Lake airport but I still love it because of the feelings of anticipation and excitement I get when I go there or the feelings of peace and comfort when I come home to the beautiful SLC skyline and my favorite mountains.

I've had some of my most life changing and maturing experiences while traveling. The summer after my sophomore year of high school I went to Europe for a couple weeks with a group from my school. It was the first time I had really traveled without my family and I learned so much about myself. I honestly know without a doubt I would be a completely different person without the things I have witnessed while traveling. It has made me cultured and appreciative of the freedoms I enjoy in America as well as just appreciating the beautiful world around us. There is so much to see and feel, so many people to meet, and so much to learn.

On that note, I've been in Utah wayy too long. I haven't left the state since last summer and I feel like I'm suffocating. I have never gone this long without some kind of trip being planned. The only thing I have for awhile is random trips to St George which hardly feed my addiction and then South Carolina in the summer like usual.

I need to explore but I have no money to do so. This is one of the worst feelings for me.
My Silver Medallion membership might be expiring soon too. Wonder how many Sky Miles I have... ;)

sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

It’s been almost a week since I’ve updated which actually is weird for me haha and to think I used to never use this thing. Well like I said in my last post a lot of things happened and I’ve noticed some changes in myself. Still don’t wanna discuss it here and probably never will. I’ve been struggling the past 6 months and letting things go and finally realizing I deserve better than the way I’ve been treated has been like a weight lifting off of me. I don’t know what the future holds for me with that person and truthfully we probably will never speak again, and if that’s what happens I think I can finally accept that. It doesn’t hurt anymore.

Anyway.

This past weekend was definitely a turning point for me though and I am so thankful and loving of those who I shared it with. It was one to remember ha.

And the quote of the week has been updated. I'm not sure if anyone has even noticed that yet but I update it every Monday :)

Keep Egypt in your prayers

Egypt is officially without internet and SMS.

Please please pray for my brother that he will be safe and pray that my sister in law will be able to fly back safely as soon as possible.

I'd go into more detail but I am trying to figure out as much about this revolution as I possibly can. Also, putting off some homework for my online class in the process. They're making history people.

coffee in salt lake

My new favorite hobby is reading reviews for restaurants online. Specifically coffee places. Some people have the greatest/most terrible stories. I'm supposed to meet my friend for coffee on Tuesday and I haven't really talked to him in a year and a half so I'm kinda nervous.

If any of you have any suggestions to me let me know. We want something more local not Starbucks or Beans ha.

Day 46: Photos of personal things in your life (pets, family, house, etc)

Most recent family pic even though this is outdated now. I have a new nephew as of two days ago haha.

That’s a picture of my house…by the way, I stole this picture from Google Maps. Sketchiest thing ever that they can put my house on the internet for all to see but I figured since it’s already there might as well use the same one for my blog hahaha.

My best friend/sister Katy who decided to photo bomb me in front of one of the pyramids of Giza. Hahahah.

Day 43: A picture of your favorite place in the world

thames-skyline-canvas-14416-1487_zoom

I have done a fair amount of traveling in my 19 years on earth and of the countries I’ve been to and states I’ve visited London is by far my all-time favorite place in the world.

I have been there three times in my life and it is not nearly enough. I definitely want to live there at some point. It is perfection.

i don't always pour beer on byu fans, but when i do i pour dos equis ;)

So I’m skipping my daily blog challenge entry for today because something a million times more amazing happened today.

WE BEAT BYU!!

And we probably shouldn’t have hahaha but whatever I will freaking take it. We played like crap…but if we play like crap and can still beat BYU then wtf is wrong with them? Hahaha anyway!

So basically I was down in St George and my tv sucks down there so I don’t get channels like the Mountain orrr CBS College so my father and I ventured to a sports bar. In this sports bar they nicely segregated us by who we were cheering for. It wasn’t totally obvious but they did ask us who we wanted when we walked in…although I think I looked pretty red and black but you know whatever haha. But anyway so basically the game kinda sucked for us poor U fans until the 4th quarter so after the 3rd quarter my dad got bored and was like “This is looking pretty bad…we should probably just leave” so we get in the car and try to find it on the radio. Of course the only station we can find is Cougar radio so we listen to this excruciatingly biased broadcast get home and come to find the rest of the fam listening to the same broadcast which seriously was so hilarious. They glossed over anything Utah did and went sooo over the top for anything those stupid kittens did. Seriously at the very end when we won they were like “kickwasblockedutahwins” like all in one breath and super mumbled it was AWESOME. Also jumping out of my chair and screaming and my mom glaring at me was fun.

It is not easy being from a blended BYU/Utah family trust me. Hahahaha.

Anyway I am just too happy and can’t even think about anything else right now.

Also some of my besties were on tv!

Hahahaha. Love you guys.

Also my friend Rhiannon was but she was like, on the news hahaha and I couldn’t find a video but I love my friends and their love of the Utes hahaha. Seriously so happy right now.

Noodle's adventure

Life has been crazy lately.

My puppy Noodle ran away on the night of the 4th which was very worrying because he is 7 months old and has only lived with us for like a month and a half so he's kinda stupid and can't find his way back to our house. Luckily someone was nice enough to pick him up and take him to the vet near my house and get his little chip scanned. Unfortunately we never got around to changing the chip to our address so his original owners from Lindon came and picked him up because they didn't want him getting sent to the pound or what not. So miracle of miracles someone who worked at the vet came into my neighborhood and saw one of the fliers that I made and recognized him and gave us a call and told us what was up. So basically long story short we got the Lindon people's info and drove 30 minutes to retrieve him. Needless to say it was quite an adventure but it ended happily :)
