the obligatory first week of school post

So I survived another first week of school. Admittedly, I've had worse first weeks of school, but I've also definitely had better. I reallllllly like my classes though. I love my professors, so already we're off to a much better start than last semester. I haven't met my Adolescent Lit prof yet because he canceled class this week but I have only heard good things about him and I could not be more excited for that class. So all in all I think I gave myself a pretty fun semester minus a few of the things that stressed me out this week I really have a lot to be thankful for.

In other news my bff/neighbor Sarah Marshall is getting married super soon and it's crazy. I am so happy for her though Max is a great guy and I know they'll be very happy together :)

I also saw the movie One Day this week and it was really good but so sad! I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it but it's a pretty good one. I cried.

In other other news I don't really know what to say. I need to start writing something better again, this much I know. I just feel like people who read this blog can't handle the other side of me.

DEAR BYU FANS

Haha okay first off I do not take credit for this at allllllll. My neighbor wrote it as a facebook note and I thought it was too great not to share.

So just for a moment, let's pretend it WASN'T a fumble. Guess what? Utah still would have won.

Brian Blecken's hit was ruled a helmet-to-helmet personal foul. That would have been a fumble and Utah would have recovered it (no BYU players were anywhere near the hit). That drive ended in a BYU field goal. Without that, BYU would have been down 13-17, and would have needed a touchdown with 4 seconds left, not a field goal.

Eddie Wide was sprinting down the sideline and had one man to beat. He was tackled by the shoulderpads, AKA a horse collar tackle. No call there. That would have been a Utah touchdown, seeing as how there were no other defenders anywhere near Wide. That drive resulted in a field goal, but were it not for that BLOWN CALL, Utah would have been up 24-16 deep in the fourth.

Assuming that really was offensive pass interference in the end zone (which it wasn't), and assuming Utah didn't score on that drive, but also assuming the game was officiated correctly on both sides of the ball, the score would still have been 17-14, BYU ball with like 3 minutes remaining. We take away the "offensive pass interference" but add the Eddie Wide run for a would-have-been touchdown, so they cancel out. But Blecken's hit forced a fumble that wasn't, and led to a BYU field goal, which made it a 1-possession game rather than a 2.

So really, all things considered... Utah still would have won, because Harleen's not open anymore. No more last-second touchdown miracles for you. Only last-second blocking miracles for us. :)

i don't always pour beer on byu fans, but when i do i pour dos equis ;)

So I’m skipping my daily blog challenge entry for today because something a million times more amazing happened today.

WE BEAT BYU!!

And we probably shouldn’t have hahaha but whatever I will freaking take it. We played like crap…but if we play like crap and can still beat BYU then wtf is wrong with them? Hahaha anyway!

So basically I was down in St George and my tv sucks down there so I don’t get channels like the Mountain orrr CBS College so my father and I ventured to a sports bar. In this sports bar they nicely segregated us by who we were cheering for. It wasn’t totally obvious but they did ask us who we wanted when we walked in…although I think I looked pretty red and black but you know whatever haha. But anyway so basically the game kinda sucked for us poor U fans until the 4th quarter so after the 3rd quarter my dad got bored and was like “This is looking pretty bad…we should probably just leave” so we get in the car and try to find it on the radio. Of course the only station we can find is Cougar radio so we listen to this excruciatingly biased broadcast get home and come to find the rest of the fam listening to the same broadcast which seriously was so hilarious. They glossed over anything Utah did and went sooo over the top for anything those stupid kittens did. Seriously at the very end when we won they were like “kickwasblockedutahwins” like all in one breath and super mumbled it was AWESOME. Also jumping out of my chair and screaming and my mom glaring at me was fun.

It is not easy being from a blended BYU/Utah family trust me. Hahahaha.

Anyway I am just too happy and can’t even think about anything else right now.

Also some of my besties were on tv!

Hahahaha. Love you guys.

Also my friend Rhiannon was but she was like, on the news hahaha and I couldn’t find a video but I love my friends and their love of the Utes hahaha. Seriously so happy right now.
