It's times like these when I really wish I had more readers because I have a question for the masses:

Can you really ever hate someone you once loved?

I mean this in the sense that the break-up wasn't based on being cheated on or anything like that. Just a run of the mill things weren't right right then or what not. No one was really at fault, just ended type of thing.

So what do you think? Also, if you wanna share this with friends so I can get more answers that would be fantastic.

  1. I've been wondering about this lately too... I don't think it's possible to hate everything about them, because if there was no redeeming quality, you wouldn't have loved them in the first place. But sometimes the person we loved turns out not to be quite who we thought they were, so it's almost like having feelings about a different person entirely. (Wow, that's an incredibly confusing sentence. Sorry.) After you let yourself be vulnerable, which you kinda have to to with love, getting hurt is infuriating, because it feels like a betrayal of trust. But even if you hate them for a while, it doesn't tend to be the kind of hate that can sustain itself for a long time, it burns itself out. Just my thoughts on your question. :)

  2. I don't know how relevant my opinion will be, but I feel like you can't. You spent so much time loving them and if you can't find something to hate about them in regards to your relationship, you have no reason to hate them at all. I wish I could hate after loving someone though. That could make things a little easier.

  3. nope it is not possible. You can hate the things that they did and they do but hating the person is not possible. Times I wish that I could hate Brandon because it would make life so much easier but I cant. at the same time though I wouldnt want to hate him cuz if you hate them then it seems stupid to have loved them at some point.
